God’s Grace is Sufficient
The grace of God was sufficient for a 10-year-old boy from Fenton, Michigan and his family the day he was diagnosed with AML Leukemia and given a 20% mortality rate in Aug. of 2003. And HIS GRACE is enough still as it holds Eli’s mom while she fulfills the final wishes shared by her son only days before he went to go, "Hang out with Jesus," as he put it.
Today represents 5 months since that mid-October day when
Eli Florence took his last breath here on earth, as he lay in the arms of his mother. But, even though the loss is vast and the pain great, Eli’s mother vowed to share her son’s message of hope, faith and perseverance with all who have ears to hear. Eli said, "I want my struggles to be worth something to someone. And I want my life to count for Christ."
The Eli Foundation "you can’t spend time with money" provides an invitation to young and old alike to find that peace that passes all understanding as well as financial assistance for families whose child has been diagnosed with AML Leukemia.
Eli’s vision of helping others was very specific in that he wanted his mother to share of their experiences throughout their 4-year journey through illness to recovery. He knew of many lives that had been changed and/or encouraged through watching he and his family endure and hold on in faith. He knew that God was at work in their midst no matter what the circumstances. This website shares many of his feelings and quoted requests, but, the true message is received when you TRY to imagine you and your family in the place where Eli and his family lived for even one day. Then, if you feel lead to do so, you will contact the foundation so Eli’s mom can share with your community or church family. She promised her son and the Lord that she would walk through any door that God opens. She is waiting for your participation in helping make Eli’s dream of helping others become a reality. God bless you as you spend time on The Eli Foundation website today.
